Jungceylon Shopping Center: Creative Christmas with a focus on environmental protection!
Amidst the tranquil atmosphere of Patong, Phuket, Jungceylon Mall is planning grand surprises for the coming holidays and New Years. Particular attention is paid to a new concept that is all about sustainability. The shopping center will be transformed into an “Eco Wonderland” until Christmas and New Year Naevna reported. This initiative is led by CEO คุณประวิช จรรยาสิทธิกุล and is intended to be implemented with particular sensitivity during the current mourning period for the late Queen Sirikit.
The center will not only be festively decorated, but will also feature creative, socially beneficial activities. Together with talented Thai artists, works of art are created from recycled material, which is used in the new art installation “Invisible – Livable”. This installation addresses the transition from marine debris to new materials, drawing attention to the increasing problem of ocean pollution. The “Art for Ocean” project, which is being presented as part of the Thailand Biennale Phuket 2025, shows, among other things, impressive sculptures, such as the artwork “Coral Chronicles”, which is made from waste materials.
Commitment to oceans
But environmental protection is not only the focus during the holidays. From May to June 2025, Jungceylon will host the “ART FOR OCEANS” event for World Oceans Day, as Young Ceylon reported. The aim of these events is to draw attention to the pressing challenges of marine pollution through creative art actors. Here, visitors can not only admire impressive works of art, but also take part in interactive activities and learn how they can help protect the oceans.
What is particularly noteworthy is that over 80% of Young Ceylon's area is green. The sustainable approach is further underpinned with solar panels and modern wastewater treatment systems. Various local groups are also involved and supporting the eco-friendly tourism efforts that are so important to the region.
Sustainability in focus
While planning for the future, Jungceylon has also developed a marketing strategy to attract a wider audience. In the coming year, the focus will be on target groups such as Gen Z and new families. These should be addressed through unique experiences and events, which is particularly important in times of economic uncertainty. A marketing budget of 17 million baht is planned to support the activities and significantly increase visitor numbers.
Economically, Jungceylon wants to benefit from the holidays, with increases in opening times and special events such as the Eco Wonderland promotion. Expectations are high: an increase in store sales by 15-20% and an increase in visitor numbers by 20% are planned. New stores, including popular brands such as EVEANDBOY, Shake Shack and GAGA, promise additional appeal for visitors heading to the mall in the coming weeks.
All of these initiatives show that ocean and environmental stewardship is an important issue not only locally but also globally. Our ocean, which covers over two-thirds of the Earth's surface, is critical to life on Earth." Report Ramatouristic: our oceans not only provide oxygen, but also provide habitats for many animal species. It is therefore even more important that both tourists and locals do their part to protect marine ecosystems and travel responsibly.
