Laguna Phuket Triathlon 2025: A spectacle for sports fans and athletes!

On November 23, 2025 it will be that time again: The Laguna Phuket Triathlon (LPT) will enter its 31st round and will once again present itself as the oldest and longest running triathlon event in Southeast Asia. Over 1,000 international athletes and approximately 3,000 spectators are expected in Laguna Grove to celebrate what is a true competition among the best of the best. A prize fund of USD 20,000 awaits the winners, making the event particularly attractive for many athletes.

The event is organized in close partnership with various institutions such as Phuket Provincial, Tourism Authority of Thailand, Sports Authority of Thailand, Ministry of Tourism and Sports and Thai Airways International. The Vice Governor of Phuket, General Adul Chuthong, emphasized the security arrangements and preparedness for the successful holding of the event.

The athletes

A look at the list of participants shows that there are top-class athletes at the start for both men and women. The male professional category includes Antony Costes from France, Joel Wooldridge from Australia, Rostyslav Pevtsov from Ukraine and Guy Crawford from New Zealand. For women, names like Kate Bevilaqua (Australia), Kseniia Levkovska (Ukraine), Imogen Simmonds (Switzerland) and Dominika Jamnicky (Canada) are on the list. In addition, top Thai athlete Jaray Jearanai will also be fighting for victory, which will certainly boost national pride.

Competition details

The main competition will be held on the “Race the Legend” course, which will consist of 1.8km swimming, 50km cycling and 12km running. But it's not just the professionals who get their money's worth: There is also a sprint triathlon with 0.5 km of swimming, 20 km of cycling and 6 km of running, as well as a duathlon with 4 km of running, followed by 50 km of cycling and another 12 km of running.

The first competitions were held on November 22nd with the “Open Water Swim presented by TriHub”. The big day of the triathlon begins at 6:30 a.m. and all residents and visitors are welcome to cheer on the athletes along the route. The cheering of the spectators will certainly help ensure that the participants can deliver their best performances.
