Pfizer Foundation Thailand: 13th AMCHAM Health Commitment Award!
The Pfizer Foundation Thailand has once again proven to be a pioneer in health promotion this year. By winning the AMCHAM Corporate Impact Award In the Platinum category, the foundation can look back on an impressive success story: This is the 13th time in a row that it has received this award. A total of 37 companies from over 650 AMCHAM Thailand members were honored, underscoring the important role of the Pfizer Foundation in the local community.
Founded in 2001, the foundation's main goal is to promote a healthy and balanced society in Thailand - regardless of race, religion or gender. This commitment is also evidenced by the numerous health education activities and access to health information that the foundation has initiated in recent years.
An important project for communities
A highlight is the “Pfizer First-aid Center” project, which has been operated in collaboration with the “Sukha Nimit” foundation since 2019. By 2024, ten first aid centers have already been set up in nine Thai provinces, including Uthai Thani, Phetchaburi and Ranong. These centers provide essential health services to schools and surrounding communities, helping to reduce health disparities in remote areas.
Particularly noteworthy is the first first aid center that was opened at the “Ban Bo Hwi” school in Ratchaburi. This region, inhabited by a poor population, primarily ethnic Karen, has severely limited access to education and health services. The center not only provides basic medical care, but also coordinates referrals to government facilities.
| First aid centers | Provinces |
|---|---|
| 1. Center | Ratchaburi |
| 2. Uthai Thani | 3. Phetchaburi |
| 4. Ranong | 5. Phang Nga |
| 6. Satun | 7. Chanthaburi |
| 8. Buriram | 9. Chiang Mai |
| 10. Ratchaburi |
Health and education combined
The centers are equipped with basic medical care and have modern facilities such as four beds and first aid equipment. In addition, they also function as educational centers for health promotion and education. The positive feedback from schools and health workers motivated the foundation to expand the concept to nine additional locations.
A special focus is also on educating children on health issues. In addition to medication labeling and CPR training, the program also includes projects such as fitness equipment installation, agricultural initiatives and school building improvements. The initiative proves once again that the Pfizer Foundation has a knack for meaningful projects.
On January 15, 2026, the Foundation celebrated its 24th anniversary, continuing its tireless commitment to education, quality of life, health and emergency response in Thailand. The road is still long, but with these impressive measures the Pfizer Foundation Thailand has already made a difference.
