First flight from Tashkent to Phuket: Uzbek influencers excited!

On November 3, 2025, Centrum Air's first flight from Tashkent to Phuket was ceremoniously welcomed. The ceremony, organized by the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), saw flight C6529, a 186-seat Airbus A321, land at Phuket International Airport. Over 95 percent occupancy shows the great interest in this new connection.

Among the passengers were five well-known influencers from Uzbekistan who traveled to Phuket and the Andaman region for a week-long discovery tour. This exciting trip includes beach activities, Muay Thai, wellness experiences, as well as cultural exploration and visits to nature reserves. This initiative is in line with TAT's strategy to expand international air access to Thailand and increase the country's attractiveness for travelers from Central Asia.

An important step for tourism

Mr. Santi Sawangcharoen, TAT Director for the Americas, Middle East and Africa Regions, commented on the occasion. He describes the flight as a milestone for TAT's Airline Focus strategy and highlights the importance of the connection between Central Asia and Thailand. The new flight will operate twice weekly, on Wednesdays and Fridays, and is part of a broader marketing strategy aimed at increasing the number of Uzbek tourists in Thailand.

Between January and October 2025, Thailand already recorded 41,173 arrivals from Uzbekistan, an increase of 37 percent compared to the previous year. Over 80 percent of these visitors are first-time travelers, including many families and couples. Beach, nature and wellness destinations are particularly popular, with bookings often made through tour operators during major holidays such as New Year in December or Novruz in March.

Thailand as a travel destination

Officially known as Siam, Thailand is located in Southeast Asia and borders Myanmar, Laos, Cambodia and Malaysia. With a population of around 66 million people and a geographical area of around 513,115 km², Thailand offers an impressive diversity of culture and landscape. From the vibrant capital of Bangkok to the picturesque beaches of Phuket, the country is known worldwide for its tourism appeal.

Given its strategic location in the region, Thailand has experienced positive developments in the travel market in recent years. The country's economy, which is heavily influenced by tourism, industry and agriculture, has welcomed these new flights and the resulting increase in visitor numbers.

With this new flight connection between Tashkent and Phuket, Thailand is once again showing its openness to international travelers and promoting cultural exchange. Focusing on the needs of Uzbek holidaymakers could not only boost tourism but also strengthen economic ties between the two countries.

Once again it is confirmed: Phuket remains a popular destination for travelers from all over the world, and the new route is a further step towards making the tourist offer even more attractive.
