Big Diwali festival in Bangkok: light, art and cultural highlights!
In Bangkok, the Diwali festival is celebrated with an impressive celebration. The Central & Robinson Amazing Thailand Grand Diwali Festival 2025 is in full swing and attracts numerous visitors. This event, which culminates today, October 24, 2025, is a joint initiative between Central Group and the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT). It's all about celebrating the traditional Indian festival of Diwali, an event that represents light, prosperity and new beginnings.
Visitors can admire the largest sand rangoli art in Bangkok at Central World, the centerpiece of the celebrations. Rangolis, which decorate the entrances of houses with colorful patterns, symbolize luck and prosperity. Performing a diya light ceremony, celebrating the victory of light over darkness, is one of the highlights. Creative workshops and exclusive shopping promotions in participating branches round off the offer.
Variety of activities
From October 16th to 31st, the Phahurat district is another focal point of the celebrations. Every day from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., visitors can expect exquisite lighting and modern multimedia technology. The cultural shows, held between October 18 and 20, featured a diverse program of traditional and modern dances, including the Atchakap Lamp Dance and the Bharatanatyam dance.
The grand opening on October 19th was a real event highlight. The “Happiness Troop” parade and mini-concerts with artists such as Ja Nongpanee and Musketeers attracted large crowds. The Khlong Ong Ang Canal has also been shining in colorful lights since October 16, decorated with rangoli art and hundreds of brilliantly lit diyas lanterns.
A feast for all senses
Participating in the Diwali festival in Bangkok will not only be surrounded by breathtaking lights and dance performances, but also by the delicious smells of Indian food, as will be the case at the planned Diwali Festival in 2024 Little India will be the case. From October 28th to November 3rd there will also be celebrations in a colorful setting that will feature culinary highlights and cultural performances to promote Thai-Indian culture.
Overall, the Diwali festival in Bangkok is viewed as an excellent opportunity to not only celebrate Indian culture but also contribute to Thailand's economic revitalization. Indian travelers who are increasingly visiting Thailand can expect an unforgettable experience that symbolizes light and joy and creates countless positive memories.
