Phuket is becoming an art metropolis: Biennale 2025 brings international talent!

The art scene in Phuket is blossoming: Today, January 2, 2026, the real estate brand แสนสิริ ภูเก็ต has established itself as a pioneer in the field of real estate development and design. But the company goes one step further and shows a special commitment to sustainable development projects and the local art community. As part of these efforts, an attractive community space was created that provides space for art and environmental projects.

The opening of this creative oasis took place with the first exhibition “ฟู่ฟู่” (Fu-Fu) at The Society in Cherng Talay-Bang Tao. Fu-Fu, the artwork of nationally recognized artist Professor Phonchai Jaima from Chiang Mai, depicts a lucky charm in the shape of a large bat. This impressive piece is not only a symbol of the “power of collective creation” but also embodies the rich nature and culture of Phuket. A portion of the proceeds from this exhibition will be used for the upcoming projects of the Thailand Biennale Phuket 2025, an event designed to position the island as a center for art and cultural tourism.

Thailand Biennale Phuket 2025

The Thailand Biennale, running from November 29, 2025 to April 30, 2026, is considered a major national contemporary art biennale. The theme “Eternal [Kalpa]” invites artists and visitors to explore the long-term relationships between humans and nature. This Biennale, which was modeled on the Biennale founded in Venice in 1895, has already successfully linked cultures at previous editions in Krabi, Nakhon Ratchasima and Chiang Rai.

For the fourth edition in Phuket, over 60 artists from both Thailand and internationally are invited, including well-known talents such as Andrew Thomas Huang and Pauline Curnier Jardin. This Biennale aims to promote the region's cultural identity and highlight Phuket as an attractive arts destination, in addition to its status as a UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy.

A feast for the senses

The Biennale will take place at various locations across the island, the main locations such as Phuket Old Town, Kathu and Promthep Cape will include satellite pavilions from international partners. During the event, the artists will address the relationship between humans and nature in their works and offer creative responses to current global challenges.

The Bali-cruising Biennale will also provide a platform for innovative projects with sustainable art at their core. For example, special fashion for festivals is developed in collaboration with local brands such as YAYEE, and the exhibition “AQUA PLAYGROUND” is realized using recycled materials to set an example for environmental awareness. These initiatives underline the vision of presenting Phuket not only as a place of beauty, but also as an active contributor to an ecologically responsible future.

The upcoming Biennale impressively shows how art and culture are intertwined and how community engagement can lead to sustainable exchange - a wonderful opportunity for locals and tourists to experience the creative energy of the island!
