Thailand's first MGallery resort in Phuket opens its doors in 2026!

Big news from the beautiful island of Phuket! This will happen in the first quarter of 2026 MontAzure Resort Phuket – part of Accor’s renowned MGallery Collection – opens its doors. With Mr. Veeranat Limprasutr, an experienced hospitality professional with over 35 years in the business, at the helm, the resort promises a very special experience for guests and locals alike.

The luxurious resort impresses with its location on the idyllic Kamala Beach and is part of the large-scale “MontAzure” project. Emphasis is placed not only on modern comfort, but also on respecting the natural surroundings and integrating them into the design. The creators are committed to Phuket's sustainable and cultural identity and attach great importance to creating meaningful experiences - the so-called "M Moments".

A place for relaxation and encounters

The MontAzure Resort will offer its guests a variety of amenities. These include a lap pool, a children's pool with a play area, a pool bar, a clubhouse, a gym and yoga facilities. Those who enjoy being in nature can explore the jogging trails, while a 24-hour restaurant provides culinary delights. Guests can also count on five-star concierge service around the clock.

But that's not all: the entire project is based on sustainability. The developer of MontAzure plans to create a truly unique, sustainable Asian resort community in Phuket and is integrating sustainable design into all aspects of the development - from planning to the materials used. The aim is to use technical and recycled materials to reduce the carbon footprint while improving the quality of life for everyone who lives and stays there.

Phuket as a pioneer for sustainable tourism

At a time when sustainable tourism is becoming increasingly important, Phuket is taking a pioneering role in Thailand. According to that Thaiger The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment is further expanding the standards for sustainable tourism in hotels with projects such as “Green Hotel Plus Phuket Sandbox”. By February 2026, around 600 hotels are expected to be awarded the international Green Hotel Plus certification. This initiative supports the goal of establishing Thailand as a leading destination in sustainable tourism.

Phuket's surrounding area is set to become more livable not only for tourists but also for locals, noting that the tourism sector, which brought in 1.67 trillion baht last year, also comes with its environmental challenges. Phuket emits 3.16 million tons of greenhouse gases annually. But the government is doing its best to steer the industry in a more environmentally friendly direction and promote green management practices.

In addition to introducing new standards, Phuket will host the World Conference on Sustainable Tourism from March 31 to April 4, 2026, underscoring the island's importance and commitment to sustainable practices.

With the MontAzure Resort on the horizon and ongoing initiatives to promote sustainable tourism, the stage appears to be set for a green future in Phuket. The anticipation for the coming year is growing and it will be exciting to see how things will develop!
