Police strike back: Five teenagers arrested for gun possession!
Today, October 27, 2025, Phuket's annual vegetarian festival has become the center of attention after a serious police operation to combat crime and violence. Under the leadership of Police Commissioner P.T. Khatchai Chukaew, several suspects were arrested and weapons were seized. In a remarkable move, five teenagers were accused of illegally possessing weapons. Loud FM91 BKK, police confiscated a homemade firearm and various ammunition from two 17- and 15-year-old suspects.
But that's not all: In addition to the arrests, the authorities also confiscated 14 motorcycles and profiled 26 young people at risk. Parents were invited to pick up their children and received information about the legal framework for child protection (Law No. 2546, Article 26(3), Article 78).
Violent clashes in Saphan Hin Public Park
The situation further escalated with violent clashes between rival youth groups in Saphan Hin Public Park. Loud Thailand News, police were alerted at 10:30 p.m. while a meeting for sub-district leaders was taking place nearby. Witnesses reported several young people attacking each other with knives and a group that even set off large fireworks.
In the subsequent investigation, three people aged 20 to 21 were arrested. A variety of weapons technology was also seized here, including homemade weapons and hand tools, while urine tests revealed that all three suspects were under the influence of methamphetamine.
The security situation in Phuket
On the one hand, the crime rate in Thailand appears to be rather low with an index of 36.37, but the population's concerns about emerging crime have increased. However, some level of concern remains about drug use and trafficking.
