Krabi becomes a hotspot for sustainable tourism with MarTech innovations!

The Thai tourism industry relies on modern marketing and sustainable growth. From October 23 to 25, 2025, the event “Global MarTech Integration Day 2025: มาร์เทค มาเที่ยวไทย” was held at Krabi Resort in Ao Nang, organized by Krabi Hotel Association and Marketing Technology Association of Thailand. The aim was to strengthen the industry's competitiveness through innovative marketing technologies and to promote sustainable approaches. How mgronline reported, the focus was on the panel discussion and the “MarTech Pitching Competition”, in which participants presented concepts for the sustainable development of Thai tourism.

Prominent participants included Kasamaporn Limpanapongthep, President of the Krabi Hotel Association, and Chaiyapong Lapliangtrakool, President of the Marketing Technology Association. Vichuphan Phukeuluan Srisanya, Vice President of Digital Innovation at the Tourism Council of Thailand, was also there. The event was supported by leading institutions such as the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau and the National Innovation Agency.

Strategies for sustainable growth

Sustainable tourism in Thailand is caught between innovative concepts and the need for traditional identity. On October 2, 2025, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) presented a joint tourism strategy developed with industry representatives. This initiative, the tatnews emphasizes, aims to promote the sustainable growth of the sector. A series of events and digital initiatives are planned to stimulate travel demand in the fourth quarter of 2025.

TAT Governor Ms. Thapanee Kiatphaibool emphasized the importance of partnerships between government, industry and communities to achieve long-term development goals. The discussion also introduced new marketing directions and the Thai Tourism Confidence Index to increase tourism performance.

A look into the future

Thailand sees this as an opportunity to increase international demand and position the country as a green travel destination. The initiative aims to attract travelers not only through impressive landscapes but also through sustainable practices. In Phuket in particular, active work is already being done to implement the principles of green tourism. The “Food Before Waste” project can be seen as a promising example that focuses on sustainable nutrition, while the “Phuket Tourism Carbon Center” supports the calculation of the carbon footprint.

In view of the growing demand for sustainable travel offers, many providers are keen to focus on nature conservation and local support. The Thai Hotels Association plays a central role here by helping members implement sustainable practices. More and more hotels have certified awards such as the “Green Hotel” certificate, and travelers can choose from a variety of environmentally friendly accommodations.

The players working in the industry agree: sustainable tourism is not just a trend, but a necessity for the future. And as previous initiatives show, Thailand is well positioned to successfully meet this challenge. The next few months will be crucial to fully exploit the potential of these developments and position Thailand as a smart travel destination on the global map.
